Image utility

Compress an image to an exact size.

Choose your target in kilobytes. The tool finds the highest JPEG quality it can use while staying under that target.

Best for photographs

JPG compression works especially well for photographs and scanned application documents.

Keep your original

Compression creates a new download. Your original file is never modified.

Check official limits

Application requirements change. Confirm the current size and dimensions on the official portal.

Practical guidance

Use the result with confidence

An exact-KB target is useful when a portal accepts files only below a stated limit. UtilityHub searches for the highest usable JPEG quality under your target; the final size can be lower because encoders cannot guarantee every byte value.

Before you finish

  • The output is below the required maximum.
  • Text, facial details and edges remain readable.
  • The destination accepts the exported JPG format.

Input: 2.4 MB JPG, 3024 × 4032 px

Process: Target 300 KB while retaining the original aspect ratio

Expected output: A smaller browser-generated JPG

Actual size varies with image detail; inspect text and faces before submitting.

Common uses

Online forms

Prepare a photo or scanned document for a maximum-KB upload field.

Email attachments

Create a smaller sharing copy while preserving the original file.

Website images

Reduce transfer size before publishing a photograph online.

Recommended workflow

  1. 1Choose the original image.
  2. 2Enter the maximum size shown by the destination.
  3. 3Run compression and inspect the preview, dimensions and output size.
  4. 4Download the result and keep the original separately.

Questions

Will the output be exactly the requested KB value?

It will target the limit and normally finish at or below it. Exact byte-for-byte output is not always possible because image encoders use discrete quality settings.

Does UtilityHub upload the image?

No. Processing happens in the browser on this device.

Why does a small target look blurry?

A very low file-size limit leaves less data for detail. Crop unused background or reduce dimensions before forcing a lower quality.
